About this event :

All those golf balls, unused clubs, golf bags and shoes in nearly new or new condition that are sitting in your attic, garage, or storage areas can really help our youth now! The First Tee Coastal Carolinas, which is headquartered in Shallotte, has served over 250,000 local youth in the past 10 years, but the COVID crisis has squeezed their finances, and we would like to help them raise funds!

Even used clubs and golf balls can be sold through First Tee’s connections to raise sorely needed cash! Sure, some may be cut down and refashioned for the youngsters, and many balls end up on the First Tee driving range, but much of what you donate can help the First Tee meet its daily expenses in an environment where many fundraiser tournaments have been cancelled and charitable grants have been delayed. Golf items like bags, shoes and hats in nearly new or new condition are given to the kids that need them, for free.

So Tuesday afternoon October 27 from 4-530pm First Tee will be at the Jones/Byrd practice area behind the driving range, and we will have  bins and pickup trucks to collect your donations starting at 3pm.  Coach Terry Mauney PGA  will be there with some of the coaches and kids in First Tee programs and you’ll be able to see a bit of what the First Tee accomplishes.

In addition, Sea Trail Men's Golf Association will ask its members to donate extra money above the normal fee to play in our October 27 event. Similarly. Sea Trail Ladies Golf Association will ask for an additional donation at its 10/28 Halloween Tournament, and Sea Trail Lady Niners will also ask for an additional donation at its Thursday 10/29 League Day. These donations are voluntary, and any other Sea Trailers who wish to donate to the First Tee Coastal Carolinas are asked to drop off a donation, clearly marked “First Tee Coastal Carolinas” in the League payment boxes located at the Jones/Byrd Clubhouse on or before Friday October 30th

Thanks for your support!
